Sylvain Grenier is a Quebecois professional wrestler and was born on March 26, 1977. he a member of the tag team La Resistance. He is working for the Friday Night Smackdown! a brand of WWE. In his early life he was very fond of baseball, tennis and hockey. He also worked as a model. On November 9, 2002 he made his debut as underhanded in the Northern Championship Wrestling circuit.
WWE Career Of Sylvan
While he was modeling in Florida, he met a WWE producer, who invited him for the WWE tryout match. WWE offered him a development contract and was sent to Ohio Valley Wrestling. He started his WWE career as a referee in an episode of SmackDown. He appeared in his first television episode on February 23, 2003 in a match between Hulk Hogan and The Rock at “No Way Out 2003”. He interrupted the match and passed a steel chair to The Rock, following the match he celebrated with McMahon and The Rock. He was placed in the match to help the Rock against the Hogan. At WrestleManis, when he tried to manage the match between Hogan and McMahon, he was thrown from the circle by Hogan. On April 28, he teamed with his Canadian felloe Rene Dupree and made his debut at RAW. They were known as La Resistance. They made their first RAW appearance as La Resistance in a match by attacking on Scott Steiner. As the result of the feud they won a match against Scott Steiner and Test at judgment Day 2003. On Memorial Day the interrupted the RAW announcer as she sang “America the Beautiful”. After few minutes of La Resistance calling America evil and saying that France "will not permit the US to be the police officer of the earth", Steve Austin appeared from offstage and vacant the ring of La Resistance, saying many critical comments about the French. They lost their popularity because of that incident and fans burned out their Wallpapers, photos and mp3 CD’s of their entrance song’s theme music. At Bad Blood, La Resistance won the World Tag Team Title against Kane and Rob Van Dam. Later the Rob Conway was inserted as a 3rd member who started by posing as a US serviceman being harmed by La Resistance and later Dudley Boyz came out and save him. They attacked them with the American flag they had given before scratching it off the stick and placing it on top of them. The trio started carrying the French flag into ring and playing the French national song before their competitions. They had lots of clashes with many tag teams; like Dudley Boyz, Hurricane and Rose and many more. Dopree was drafted SmackDown and Grenier teamed with Conway. They won the World Tag Team title three times. First time they defeated Chris Benoit and Edge on May 31, 2004 episode of RAW in Montreal. Later at Taboo Tuesday they lost the title to Chris Benoit when Edge left the ring leaving Chris alone. On November 1, they won the title again. Two weeks later in a 3-Way Tag Team Elimination match they lost the title to William Regal and Eugene. On January 16, 2005 they won their 3rd and last title at Raw’ House Show. Few weeks later on January 7, 2005 La Resistance lost their title against William Regal and Tajiri in Tokyo. They tried their best to regain the title but they failed on every occasion to do that. They were given a last chance in a 5-way title match at 2005 Backlash. In the match they eliminated the champions but they were defeated by Hurricane and Rosey. The team was broken on May 2005 and competed in a Triple Thread match with Benjamin. Benjamin won the match. He changed his entrance theme music, promos and Sunglasses. His wallpapers, mp3 theme song and photos in the new style are available on WWE website. At Royal Rumble 2006 he was eliminated by Bobby lashley. On June 16, 2006 he released a video “the Ambassador at Large for the Beautiful Province of Quebec“. He made he re-debut on July 18 in an episode of SmackDown and won a match. He returned to OVW on November 15 and teamed with Rob Conway to form the old La Resistance to won the OVW tag team title. On December 22, he attacked on World Champion Batista with a steel rod. This resulted in a match with Batista that he lost.
